Project Description

The construction of the South Essex Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade was composed of the construction of new secondary treatment plant, the installation of new thickening and dewatering equipment in an existing building, new sludge and lime handling, mixing and storage facilities including their housing, and other upgrades and expansions in currently existing buildings.

Project Cost and Duration

$250 million. Design completed February 1994. Construction began October 1994 with an expected duration of six years.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Cost-Schedule Engineer, our engineer developed the Master schedule at the design stage. Then she performed the CPM progress schedules and performed monthly analyses and reviews. The project was under a consent decree order with specified milestone dates for various phases and activities incorporating penalties for failure of compliance.
